Gochar (transit) refers to the current movement of planets through the zodiac and their impact on your natal chart. While your birth chart is fixed, the planets continue to move — and their current positions relative to your natal placements create dynamic influences.
The most important transit in Vedic astrology is Sade Sati — Saturn's 7.5-year transit through the 12th, 1st, and 2nd houses from your natal Moon. This period is known for testing challenges, but also for profound personal growth and spiritual maturation.
Other significant transits include Saturn Return (every ~29.5 years), Jupiter Return (every ~12 years), and the Rahu-Ketu axis transit (18-month cycle through opposite signs).
Transits are always interpreted in conjunction with your Vimshottari Dasha periods. A benefic transit during a favorable Dasha brings opportunities, while the same transit during a challenging Dasha may have reduced impact.
